This newsletter and the Christmas season, in general, snuck up on me, so Instead of several sections, I will go with a Christmas message (Sorta).
We all have times in our lives when we feel like we are in the middle of an out-of-control dumpster fire, and for me, that has been the last week. An idea I had put a lot of money and time into isn’t panning out; deadlines for production work get tougher due to Holiday schedules; in my case, sales are at a four-month low, and for all of us, when stress starts piling up, everything becomes an irritant. So, fifteen minutes ago, when I realized that I was already three days into December, that is where I was.
Fortunately, the pity party was short-lived. I started thinking what I and a lot of other people need is a change of perspective;
1. For me and a lot of my customers, we are our own boss. This comes with responsibilities and long hours, but ultimately, we are at the tiller, and we get to choose the path we take.
2. We all seem to enjoy the hobby of PCP air guns, which says at least a little about how we are doing in life; it is not a cheap hobby.
3. It is the time of year when we hear from family; it is not (Generally) about what you can do for them.
4. Some people get a little nicer; charity is on the up-tick, and a meal can include both brownies and hot chocolate.
5. This is ripped off from the movie Zombieland, Rule 32: Enjoy the little things.
I guess what I’m getting at is perhaps it is a good time of year to look around for examples of grace, kindness, and civility. I, for one, am going to push my fourteen to eighteen-hour days back to twelve and re-introduce myself to my wife. I hope all of you can find something that will make this Holiday season great for you and your family.
Here are a couple of things that might put a smile on your face. First, the December customer drawing will be on December 24th, and it will be amazing. It will be a One-off custom 2,000.00+ Air gun package, probably off of the Zeus platform. It will be great, and the winner will be the only person in the world with it (Probably a multi-barrel custom-length combo). Second, consider paying a little more than you want for a box of chocolates or treats. Platter’s Chocolate Factory is nearly a 100-year-old company out of Tonawanda, NY.. They have a great history, and they make amazing products that are well worth every penny, and they ship quickly.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to all of you.
