Description
I am selling a pair of (2) Bintac BW S45 CNC custom aluminum magazine 7-round inserts (To replace the OEM plastic ones). I am limited to 45 sets, but if they sell well and get positive feedback, I will make them 200 at a time in the future.
A note about cost: I use local engineering and rapid prototyping services. I also create small batches, which means that 24 CNC shops will pass on the work until you find a 25th one willing to work my projects into their schedule. It also means that per unit cost will be high (The same applies to anodizing). I have around 180 total pieces of the two sizes I had built; it will take this entire batch and 20 from the next batch to break even and start making money. It’s an expensive hobby, and these are expensive aftermarket parts.
Finally, I will never ship overseas for manufacturing to bring the cost down for the following reasons:
- Long lead times, so the part may be obsolete before I see the first one.
- R&D with multiple changes to the prototype is all but impossible.
- The price would be significantly lower, but I have no control over the quality, and I would likely end up competing for business with the very people I shipped my designs to.
